When I was younger, I used to watch my grandmother do her cross stitching and I still have a couple of the pieces she made for me as a child. I have free time in the evenings and I have been thinking about taking it up so I can do something besides watch television for hours on end. I wanted to do something productive, and I knew that I would be able to give away the ornaments or pictures I would make, because they really are gorgeous when done right. I looked up free cross stitch patterns to see if that was still the case and I came across quite a few free patterns that were beautiful. I had to buy the materials that I needed, and then I went to a website where I could get free patterns. I am really looking forward to doing this, and I hope that my own grandkids will join in like I did all those years ago with my own grandmother.
